Training sessions held in Smederevo and five Vojvodina cities and municipalities
In the organisation of the project Support to the Commission for State Aid Control basic training sessions on state aid rules were held in six cities and municipalities, mostly in Vojvodina, in the first week of August 2020.
A team of project experts consisting of Svetlana Šćepanović Markočević and Aleksandar Ristić held training sessions in Smederevo, Pančevo, Novi Sad, Temerin, Titel and Žabalj. Basic trainings on state aid rules, state aid control rules that are in force in the European Union, as well as the most common examples of state aid at the level of local self-government were discussed. The sessions were held on the principle of “on-the-job training”.
According to the experts, the employees of the municipalities in which the training sessions were held are well acquainted with the basic rules on state aid and most of their questions referred to the rules for services of general economic interest. Specific issues in the field of communal activities were discussed, as well as cases of financing of sport clubs.
Due to the Covid-19 disease pandemic, the number of participants was limited; sessions were held in strict compliance with preventive measures. However, at the request of the local self-government and with the provision of all protection measures, the training session in Novi Sad was attended by as many as 19 participants, including internal auditors and tax inspectors.
